YHA Kinloch Lodge

Remote lakeside lodge with everything you need to be your outpost in the wilderness. A stone's throw from the Routeburn and Greenstone/Caples tracks. Relax with our facilities, including a lounge, book exchange, TV room, and hot tub with a view of the mountains. Look after yourselves in the self-catering kitchen or indulge in our cosy restaurant with a variety of hearty food catering for all tastes and dietary requirements accompanied by local beers and wines.

We offer a variety of room types to suit all budgets and groupings. In the YHA area 13 rooms can sleep 41 guests, all rooms have shared bathrooms except the double en-suite room. Our heritage lodge sleeps a further 12 across 6 rooms but is not YHA associated.  We have a family room sleeping five guests.  Our restaurant serves breakfast through to dinner with sweet treats and hot drinks available all day. A marquee covered deck offers up fantastic lake and mountain views or enjoy the restaurant with logging artifacts and wood burner in cooler months. Food is sourced as locally and sustainably as possible whilst reflecting the seasons. Full site hire is available and we offer various group menus to meet any requirements. Track transport is available to the Routeburn and Greenstone/Caples tracks and we can help with any planning. Activities can be booked on your behalf free of charge - locally there is horseriding, jet boats, scenic flights, canyoning, skydiving and more. During the warmer months we offer kayak tours on Lake Wakatipu.
