YHA Franz Josef Glacier is a recently refurbished 5 star hostel offering comfortable and modern budget accommodation. Nestled into a stunning backdrop of rainforest and mountain views, YHA Franz Josef Glacier offers accommodation comprising of shared, double, twin (some with ensuite bathrooms) and family rooms (double bed and bunk beds). Rollaway beds or baby cots are also available. On the side of a hill and facing west overlooking the Tasman Sea, YHA Greymouth hostel boasts fantastic views - on clear days, you can sometimes catch a glimpse of Mount Cook or the Hector dolphins from the river mouth! Short bush walks are available close to the hostel. Accommodation includes one room with four beds plus ensuite, and four rooms with four beds. We also have double rooms right next to rooms with three or four beds so a family can stay close together, or rooms with a double plus a single bed. Facilities include a TV room with DVD and kids' movies, games, colouring books, extensive book and video library, small shop where a basic breakfast/snack/lunch/supper can be purchased, shared kitchen and bathroom. Internet access with Wifi and skype available. For the music lovers we also have guitar or piano for your enjoyment. There is an outdoor, terraced area with BBQ facilities, plus a large garden to play in, and we are just a short walk to Greymouth town centre.... more
