Rabbiters Cottage is a beautiful historic cottage surrounded by
wild country gardens with a fantastic pastoral outlook flowing to
stunning mountain views. It is located only 5 minutes walk from the
Kimbell Pub and art galleries and the country town of Fairlie is only 8
minutes drive away – offering a great selection of restaurants, a small
supermarket, post office, pharmacy and bank.
Only 2 ½ hours from Christchurch, charming Kimbell is a piece
of New Zealand paradise hidden away in the beautiful rural
Mackenzie
Country. With its strong Scottish history, this area is unique
to New
Zealand.
Rabbiters Cottage
The cottage is furnished with modern appliances, period-piece
furniture and
features a beautiful cottage garden of fruit trees and herbs with a
lovely
outdoor eating area. Take in beautiful rustic views of the Mackenzie
Country
farmland with horses and sheep grazing.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms have luxurious Egyptian cotton linens, electric
blankets and
special NZ Fairydown quilts. The cottage sleeps up
to four people and has 1 x Super King bed (can be set up as two
large singles)
and 1 x Queen bed. We’ve made sure that our beds are comfortable so
you can enjoy a great nights sleep.
Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker and electric oven,
fridge/freezer,
dishwasher, easy to operate espresso coffee machine, toasted
sandwich maker,
grill, toaster and blender.
The cottage has two separate living areas with a LCD 32”TV, CD/DVD
Player and Sky TV. In winter, warm your toes and cuddle up in front
of the
log fire.
Facilities
There is also a laundry with a washing machine and tumble dryer for
your
use.
The cottage features a small library of handpicked New Zealand
books, with
special reference to the Mackenzie Country. There is also a
wonderful collection
of art for you to enjoy.
