Facts - Hanmer Springs is an alpine township famous for its natural, thermal pools, and only 90 minutes drive from Christchurch. The region is a popular family getaway – you’ll find heaps of fun activities, with the icing on the cake being a visit to the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa. There are hot natural pools to relax in, a full size swimming pool or the Family Activity Area, with waterfalls and animal slides. But Hanmer isn’t just about the hot pools….it’s a laid-back village tucked away amongst forests, rivers and mountains. There’s plenty of accommodation, from campsites and holiday parks, to motels, hotels or luxury cottages. Activities include adventure golf, jetboating, horseriding, bungy jump, family biking, quad bike hire (including kiddie quads), paintball, farm visits or forest walks and picnics.

This camp is situated just a few minutes drive out of Hanmer Springs Village, in the heart of the Hanmer Forest. With 10 acres of land it's an ideal family stop and includes an adventure playground and large play area. Plus, there are walking tracks through the forest that start right from the camp! We specialise in sleeping larger groups, or families travelling together, and can accommodate up to 40 in one building. We also have family cabins that sleep up to 6. Kitchen amenities are shared, but if you're travelling in a group of 15 we can allocate your own kitchen. Family cabins have a double bed and either one or two sets of bunks. Self-contained units are now available, with own kitchen, in our Abilities Lodge. The lodge and units are designed for people with disabilities. Tent sites also available.
