Only 12 kilometres from the centre of Hamilton is the Appaloosa Horse Stud with its 18 beautiful Appaloosa horses and working farm with sheep and cattle. The farmstay has queen and twin rooms with separate bathroom facilities. They also have BBQ facilities, children’s play area and colour TV. |
Goat at the Gate - Ngahirapouri
Goat at the Gate offers a new, open plan self-contained unit in the heart of the Waikato. Set in a large open garden with swings, sandpit, playhouse, jungle gym and trampoline, this unit is ideal for families. The children will love meeting and feeding the farm animals, including the famous goat at the gate, Suzie. Accommodation comprises a queen-sized rimu slat bed, double sofa bed suitable for 2 children, kitchenette, ensuite and TV. A cot is available on request. A continental breakfast (cereal, milk, fruit, yoghurt and toast) is included. |
Mt Heslington Stud - Otorohanga
Centrally situated on State Highway 3, this farmstay is set on an 80 hectare farm with Stud Angus Cattle and Thoroughbred horses. Enjoy a warm welcome from the miniature fox terrier and the cat. Join in with the farm activities or visit the computerized cow-shed. They also have a swimming pool, pool table and large garden. There is a twin room with two single beds and double room with double bed and two singles. All their meat, fruit and vegetables are home grown and guests are welcome for dinner by arrangement. |
Waitomo Big Bird Bed and Breakfast
This farmstay has four self-contained units, comprising two bungalows, a cottage and a chalet, plus homestead accommodation with three bedrooms. The rooms have televisions and complimentary tea and coffee. As well as the ostriches, Waitomo Big Bird is also home to two miniature horses. The farmstay is five minutes from the glowworm caves and two minutes to two restaurants. Enjoy a tour of the ostriches and buy some of the products on sale in their shop. |
